BARLEY BUYING.

TO IKB EDITOR. Sir, —I notice a good deal of correspondence in your issues relative to the price of barley, and with your kind permission would like to add a, few remarks. In-your issue of lflth inst. Moritzson and Hopkin state, "We feel sure if we get the uandliug of the whole crop, could well maintain prices," while ih.a previous issue they state, " We have a buyer for the whole crop, 12,000 sacks." Now surely this i 3 very inconsistent. If they have,, as they state, a a buyer for the whole crop at> considerably above to-day's prices, why is it necessary to " maintain the market? " Surely they will get the lot provided their buyer advances his ideaa of value as compared, with others, as he evidently has done at the present moment. If other buyers will pay 3s 6d, Franktou, surely M. and H. will- get their prices raised to 4s, or even 4s 6d at Brankton, fti per bushel is a mere trifle when you come to thiufe of it Should this be so then, M. and His the firm for me. Surely otfier agents of long citablished fame arc quite as confident to seU barley as M. and and may even do so with a little IeBS bluster. A. very sensi .le letter appears in the same issue signed " Net Cash, Frankton," and I would be very pleased, to see such an arrangement carried out. The right they reserve is that The grain be bright, plump, and sound." Now, inothe- words, this means " perfect," and, as we all know this class is very scarce, where do the majority come in? ,Another manter is, who is to be judge ? Would M. and M. kindly answer this. It may be themselves, and if so I have no doubt that with their unlimited expeeieuca ill barley buying, full justice will b2 done to those consigning them their "rain to Duncdiu for sale. Oli happy Lakca farmers, think of the new furniture we will have in our sitting rooms this year, if prices should only go to 10s per bushel, and it looks like it.—l am. etc., Another Net Cash Fra.nktojj.
