MORITZSUN AND HOFKIN’S REPORTS AND LETTER.
TO THE EDITORi. Sir, —I was much grieved (but not disip*pointed) to see that the above firm resorted! to abusive and ungentlemanly remarks whenreterriug.to my last letter in their report i»i your issue of the 26th inst- Without dbubfc they lay themselves open to great rebuke for the bad taste displayed therm. If-the abovefirm wish to throw offensive and personal matters into their literature, then-of course - they must expect retaliation. This I-do not mean to do. A"3 I am- not a barley farmer - (uo such luck) I am interested in insurance business—l do not wish to lock up 12,000* sacks of'grain—l do not wish to-hurt the feelings of any individual or firm. All I want to know is, who is this great benefactor, Mr Moritzson, who will again visit Wakatipu if farmers will form-an association (of course I presume commission is not so much-aii object). His heart and sour is in the district. He is going to try and give us more steamer competition, to be driven by electricity,, probably. Such patriots deserve every encouragement. Then arouse, sleepy residents of Wakatipu, the redeemer has come ! As for myself lam one of the unredeemed. Reference as to overdraft Bank of New Ze.ilund. As to character, Const ble Bowman, Arrowtown, Salvation Army, Qaecnstown, and Constable Jones,. Dunedin. lam now living in mountainous Wakatipu, and do not wish to- dictate to- any Shipping Company as to charges, and certainly I never would-attempt to -dictate or. lead an iuttllifent body «f farmers like the Wakatbpuites. f you wish to-ose terms such as" Baby Farmer " etc., I will get •• 'Arry " to reply to your- future correspondence.—l am, etc., Net u.\sh Franktos.
