Forty-five years ago this month since gold was first discovered in N.S.W. A Pahiatua man recently admitted having spent £7OO in 12 months in drink. A family par'y numbering 69 relatives recently dined together at Taranaki. A large number of Brunnerton miners have found work in Auckland at 8s per day. Chad* went down £1 per ton in Invercargill last week. Wool is corning into Invorcaroill by road, the horse waggon being cheaper than the railway. A horse kicked H. S.Shafer, of the Treemyerllouse, Middleburg, N. Y.,ont!ie knee which laid him up in be<l and caused the knccjo:;it to become stiff. A friend recommended him to use Chamberlain's Pain Balm which he i.id, and in two days was ahlo to be around.
