Te kaha te haere o te kapo ra, i te whakawarenga kite werowero haere, kei takawhakarere ki nga waro e tuwhera noa ana. Nawai, a, ka tae ake te kopa karanga tonu atu kite kapo, "E hoa, ko to mate kei ou kanohi, ko taku mate kei aku waewae. E mea ana ahau, ko a taua tokotoko me whakarere ko ahau hei kanohi mou ko koe hei waewae moku." Ka whakaaetia te korero ote kopa ra. Ka whakawaha te kapo i te kopa ra, a, ka tohutohu haere te kopa, " Ki maui, ki katau," ki mea, ki mea. Ahiahi rawa ake ka tae kite kainga, tau ana te ngenge kite matapo, ko te kopa ia, ngahau tonu.
