Before Mr. A. Blackman, J.P., a second offender, Heta Motu, was convicted and fined £1 on a charge of being drunk on the Te Kuiti station on Saturday afternoon. When a car he was driving left the road and went over a 145 ft. bank a mile north of Tarawera, a service car driver was killed instantly. He was Malcolm Stuart Aimer, of 39 Clonbern Road, Remuera, Auckland. He was driving a private car.
