The first monthly medal was won by Simmonds with a score of 85, 14— 71. Simmonds was a junior player last year and is making very steady progress in his game.
On Saturday next a Stableford bogey match will be played, players to choose their own partners in threes. The qualifying round for the Steed-man-Herbert Cup will be limited to one, to be played on the 28th instant and not on the 21st instant, as shown in the programme.
