Miss W. Looney, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. A. D. McLennan. Mr. F. Hoffman, of the Railway Department, is on annual leave. Mr. Pettit has returned from a holiday spent in Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. C. Hartwell are spending a holiday at Taneatua. Miss I. Jordan returned last week from an extended holiday at Honolulu. Mr. G. Boswell, of the Railway Department, is on annual leave. Mrs. E. A. Jonasson is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. T. C. Conway, of Auckland, is relieving at the Te Kuiti station. The death occurred at Arapuni on Monday of Mrs. W. Ware, mother of Mr. E. G. Ware, of Te Kuiti. Miss M Gower, of Kaitieke, is the guest of Mrs R. M. Somerville, Te Kumi. Mr. and Mrs. J. Thornton have returned from a holiday spent at Cowes Bay, Waiheke. Miss F. Waldegrave has returned after paying an extended visit to the East Coast. Constable O'Brien returned on Saturday after a month's holiday spent in Auckland, Wellington and Wanganui. Miss Merron Broadfoot, of the Dental Clinic Training College, -is spending her term holidays in Te Kuiti. Mr. J. Armstrong, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Lawrence, Seddon Street. Mrs. Jarvis, of Tauranga, who has been visiting Mrs. H. L. Dinsdale, has returned home. Mrs. C. J. Steedman, of Tauranga, is at present visiting her Mrs. H. L. Dinsdale. Miss A. Lusk, who. was recently appointed to the Dental Clinic Training College, is at present spendingthe holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Lusk.

Miss A. Jones, of the Post Office staff, is spending a holiday in Christchurch. Miss Jones flew from Palmerston North to Christchurch on Friday. Mrs. Frank Uren, accompanied by her small son, has arrived from Melbourne to join her husband as the i guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Sutcliffe, Bank of Australasia. Mr. B. M. Laird, of the staff of the Pio Pio Consolidated School, has been transferred to Kauroa, near Raglan, and a farewell social and dance is being tendered to him and his wife in the Pio Pio Hall on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Laird will be greatly missed in Pio Pio, where they have been keenly interested in many activities, particularly in sport.

Good wishes for their future' happiness were extended by a party of their friends at Messsr. Cato Bros.' residence on to Miss Betty Gresham and,.Mr. E. A. Brainsby, who are to be married on Saturday.. < The function took the form of a kitchen evening, and was greatly enjoyed by all present.
