BROADCASTING OF RACES
DRASTIC SYDNEY ACTION. COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, this day. Every person who attends the Victoria Park races to-morrow will require a ticket on which a special contract is printed undertaking, either directly or indirectly, not to communicate with any person outr side the course any description of the race or races or results thereof, until the expiration of five minutes after the last race. Any person offending is liable to be treated as a trespasser. The new contract is regarded in racing circles as part of the legal plan rumoured last week, when it was reported that proceedings are to be instituted shortly by the Metropolitan Racing Club to test the legality of the broadcasting of races during their progress or within a reasonable time after the last race. Action will be taken in the Supreme Court by way of an application for an injunction against one of the broadcasting stations. Plaintiff will seek an account of the damage already done by previous broadcasting.
