The wholesale value of motor vehicles, parts, and tires sold was 2,493,198,716 dollars. The registrations of cars and trucks in 1934 totalled 24,913,403. The capital invested in motor vehicle manufacture was 1,281,312,000 dollars. The number employed directly and indirectly in motor-car manufacture and motor vehicle service and sales was 5,065,000. Altogether 5,035,000 motor vehicles were in operation on farms.

Motor taxes for the year amounted to 1,200,108,000 dollars. Interesting facts are that 70 per cent, of all plate-glass produced in America is used in the manufacture of motor vehicles and 75 per cent, of all the rubber. The total length of highways in the world is given as 92,31,000 miles.
