Waitete Win Farmers* Cup.

The Waitfete and United (Otoro-i hanga) juniors had a great struggle last Saturday in the final for the Farmers’ Cup. At the close of the time allowed both teams had 9 points ~i —Searancke, Campbell and Herewgii had crossed for Waitete and G. Awanui had secured two tries and W. Findlay one try for United. As it was the final of a knockout competition it was decided to play two extra ten-minute spells, and during that time Waitete was in the ascendant, raising their score to 20 ■'whilst United’s remained at 9.

THE VETERANS’ MATCH. The annual veterans’ game was played at Otorohanga last Saturday. Te Kuiti turned out with a full team of the “old buffers,” but Otorohanga could only field a few who were willing to don the jersey after several years’ absence from the field, and filling in with younger players, won the game by 17 points to 3.
