KAWHIA ACCIDENT SEQUEL,

The young man, Sidney Robert Sheweiry, who was found lying alongside a motor truck down a steep bank on the main road near Kawhia late on Friday evening, died in the Waikato Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Though details of the affair are meagre it appears that Mr. Sheweiry was driving towards Kawhia. The cause of the accident is not known but the truck plunged over a 40ft. bank and the driver was found seriously injured and in a semi-conscious condition, alongside the vehicle.

He was taken to the Kawhia Cottage Hospital and brought to the Waikato Hospital, where his injuries were diagnosed as a fracture of the skull and internal injuries. He died at 1.45 p.m. It is understood that Mr. Sheweiry's parents reside at Remuera, Auckland.
