CHINAMAN CHARGED

FRACAS IN PAKAPOO DEN. MAN IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. An affray in a pakapoo den on Saturday night resulted in Lee Fong, 47, a market gardener, being charged with assaulting Carl Mafeking Hertz as to cause actual bodily harm. It was stated that Hertz was alleged to have been hit with a chopper and had to undergo an operation and will be in hospital for some time. A remand was made, bail beine refused until it could be established that Hertz was out of danger.
