The health of Mr. F. W. Walters, Maihiihi's most prominent settler and largest farmer, is causing his relatives and friends anxiety. Mr. Walters has been confined to his bed for some months past.

The following pupils of Miss Ivy Graham were successful at the music examination: Royal Academy—Primary, June Bell; lower division, Eileen Grove. Trinity College—Junior, Joyce Johnstone (honours), Annie Webb (pass).

Representatives of fourteen sporting organisations gathered at the Commercial Hotel, Hawera, on Wednesday night to farewell Mr. E. Read, who will leave on Monday to take up business on his own account at Te Kuiti (states an exchange).
