SHOCKING ACCIDENT

CHILD'S FEET SEVERED. BY MOWING MACHINE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Carterton, this day. A shocking accident was reported from Dalefield yesterday afternoon, when Keith, aged 21 years, son of Mr. W. A. Hooper, had both his feet cut off by a mower. Mr. Hooper was engaged in cutting green oats, which on account of a splendid season, were excessively high. The little chap was completely hidden, and was caught in the machine, both feet being severed at the ankles. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in a weak condition through loss of blood and shock.
