A COOLER FOR BUTTER.

H uuu'L.c.n rvn ou i iuai Build a set of shelves held together at the four corners by uprights which extend downward to form short legs. Make the top and the bottom of reinforced galvanised iron screening, 14 -inch mesh. Cover the three sides and a hinged doorframe fitted to the fourth with flannel, the upper end of each strip being cut long enough to extend into a pan of water set upon the top of the structure. The water seeps down the flannel walls, and the butter or other contents of this home-made refrigerator are cooled by the evaporation. The wire mesh above and below permits of the free passage of air. Care must be taken to refill the pan on top as often as it becomes nearly empty.
