ECONOMIC CONFERENCE
POSSIBLE ABANDONMENT. WAR DEBTS STAND IN WAY. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 8.35 a.m.) London, November 14. The Sun understands that the World Economic Conference is not likely to take place before April, if at all. An extraordinary situation has arisen at Geneva, where the Preparatory Economy Committee suddenly adjourned and separated. Some returned to America without any prospect of an early re-assembling. It will be recalled that Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, chairman-elect, urged that the conference should open in January at the latest, as it would have been enabled to come to a conclusion before the war debts were under discussion. Now the difficulty of it being convened before April will possibly render the conference useless, particularly because the war debts discussions are essential in 1933.
