MURDER OF PRESIDENT
DEATH SENTENCE PASSED. ON GORGULOFF THE RUSSIAN. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 12.20 p.m.) Paris, July 27. The State Prosecutor in the case in which the Russian Gorguloff is charged with the murder of the late President, M. Doumer, described Gorguloff as a depraved bigamist and a latter-day Rasputin. Counsel for the defence contended that Gorguloff was an absolute lunatic. The jury retired and in twentyfive minutes returned with a verdict of premeditated murder and the death sentence was passed. Gorguloff was led away shouting unintelligibly.
