At last night's meeting of the Maniapoto Rugby Sub-Union, the secretary, Mr. B. Harker, tendered his resignation, as he was leaving the district. He stated it was with sincere regret that he did so, for his work as secretary of the Union had been most congenial. The president, Mr. W. Copsey, expressed his deep regret that the Union was losing the services of Mr. Harker. For several years now Mr. Harker had been secretary, and in that period had done a great deal of useful work for the Union. Several delegates spoke in a like strain, being keenly appreciar tive of the good work Mr. Harker had done. Mr. Stanley Wilson was appointed secretary in Mr. Harker's stead.
