PIO PIO FOOTBALL CLUB

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the above club was held, in the Pio Pio Town Hall on Wednesday evening, March 16. A good muster of players and supporters attended. The president's report showed that a very successful season had been experienced. The finances of the club were in a satisfactory condition. He complimented the seniors in winning the championship of their grade and also for re-gaining the Hetet Memorial Shield, emblematic of. champions of champions. He also spoke briefly on the success of the juniors.

Owing to business reasons the president, Mr. Newcombe, expressed his regret in having to resign from his position. Mr. Newcombe has done good work for the club during his term of office, and his resignation was received with regret.

Apologies for their absence were received from Mr. R. Boddy and Mr. R. Webster, also notification that neither would be able to'take an active part in the administration of the club's affairs for the ensuing season. This is certainly a big loss to the club, as both these gentlemen have done good work in the interests of football in the district.

The following officers were elected for the coming year:— Patron, Mr. R. Boddy; president, Mr. D. M. Rodger; vice-presidents, Messrs. Newcombe, McCracken, McMurray, Anderson, Remnant, Porter; hon. secretary, Mr. S. Somerfield; auditor, Mr. J. Anderson; treasurer, Mr. McMurray; delegates to Maniapoto subUnion, Messrs. Rodger, Somerfield, McMurray; executive committee, Messrs. Anderson, Griffin (2), Bowyer, Porter, Gauntlett, Remnant, Nixon; selectors: senior, Mr. M. Maata; juniors, Mr. McMurray; thirds, Mr. Hempleman.
