CRUEL REVENGE
m HOT TAR POURED OVER GIRL. JEALOUS WIFE'S ACT. A cruel revenge is alleged to have been inflicted on a maid-servant by a farmer's wife in Judenburg, Styria. She is stated to have been jealous of the girl and, aided by her sister, to have torn the clothes off the girl and poured hot tar over her. The husband appears to have watched the proceedings, and even to have helped to throw the girl in an ice-cold brook, where she was discovered unconscious.
The girl was taken to hospital in a critical condition, and the farmer, his wife and her sister have been arrested.
