LOOSE CLOTHING.

DANGEROUS IN GARAGE. When working about the car, and particularly when making adjustments with the engine running, great care should be taken to ensure that loose clothing is not worn. In the last few months there have been several cases of serious accidents through the clothing of mechanics catching in moving parts. The worst of these was the case of a .mechanic whose necktie became caught in the fan. Only the timely arrival of assistance prevented his death strangulation. It is surprising that more owner-drivers do not provide themselves with a cheap suit of overalls for use when engaged in maintenance work, especially as these could be carried in the car and slipped on to protect the clothing when roadside repairs, such as the changing of tires, become necessary.
