WESTFIELD SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual sale of fat stock at Westfield on Wednesday, 2nd March, as under:— Beef.—Ox beef was offered in average numbers and sold under a steady demand at late values. Co-w----and heifer beef came forward in larger numbers than last week, the demand being good and late rates again ruled. Extra choice ox sold to 21s per lOOlbs; choice and prime ox 18s to 20s; just killable 16s to 17s; prime young cow and heifer beef 17s to 20s; just killable 10s to 16s; heavy prime steers made from £7 7s 6d to £8; lighter prime steers £6 12s 6d to £7 ss; light prime steers £5 5s to £7; small and unfinished steers £3 2s 6d to £5; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £4 10s to £5; heavy prime cows and heifers £3 17s 6d to £4 7s 6d; lighter prime cows and heifers £3 to £3 15s; other killable cows 30s to £2 17s 6d.

Sheep.—Sheep came forward in increased numbers and the offering comprised many lines of prime quality. The 1 demand was. steady and late rates again ruled. Extra heavy prime wethers realised 15s to 16s; leavy prime, 14s to 14s 9d; medium L2s to 13s 9d; heavy prime ewes 9s !;o lis 9d; lighter 7s to 8s 9d; other ewes 5s 6d to 6s 9d.

Lambs.—The entry of lambs was fully an average one and sold steadily at late rates. Heavy prime lamb sold from 14s to 14s 9d; medium 12s to 13s 9d; light 9s 6d to lis 9d. Calves. —Calves were yarded in larger numbers and many good quality vealers were penned. Prices were not up to last week's quotations and towards the end of the sale competition lagged. Runners made £1 10s to £2 10s; heavy vealers £1 10s to

£2 ss; medium vealers £1 4s to £1 10s; light vealers 18s to £1 3s; small vealers 8s to 17s; rough calves 4s to 9s; small 2s to ss.

Pigs.—Pigs were yarded in rather larger numbers, but the percentage of good baconers was smaller than usual. Prices can be quoted slightly better than last week's quotations. Choppers made £1 5s to £2; heavy baconers £2 4*s to £2 8s; medium £2 to £2 3s; light £1 16s to £1 19s; heavy porkers £1 14s to £1 18s; medium porkers £1 8s to £1 13s; light porkers £1 to £1 6s.

OTOROHANGA SALE.

N.Z. Loan and Mercantile, Te Kuiti, report having held their fortnightly sale at Otorohanga on Wednesday, when a large entry of sheep were penned cattle being penned in average numbers. We quote: S.M. ewes 5s 6d to 6s 9d, others 3s to 4s Bd, best lambs 7s to Bs, others 5s 6d to 6s 3d, small lambs 3s to 4s 2d, light bullocks £4, fat cows £3 to £3 7s, killable cows £2 2s to £2 12s, store cows 21s to 355, boner cows 12s to £l, bulls £1 to £2 10s,- Jersey heifer calves £1 2s 6d to £1 10s. Pigs.—Good stores 7s to 225, others 12s, weaners 7s to 10s.
