BASKETBALL

CLOSING OF SEASON. Last Saturday the Te Kuiti Club held its closing day. Two games were played between the High School and Club teams, both results being in favour of the School; the scores were 12—9 and 11—2. During afternoon tea, which was served at the conclusion of the games, a vote of thanks, moved by Miss Gouldstone, was accorded Messrs. Perry, Ross and Williams who kindly refereed throughout the season, and to all others who helped make the Club’s first season a success. Mr. Perry replied on behalf of the referees. Mr. Skinner congratulated the Club on the play dui-ing the season and expressed pleasure at the sporting spirit in which the games had been played, tie also mentioned the improvement in the standard'of play, and wished the Club success in future seasons.
