THE PRINCE AND GERMANY.

HERR TAUBER’S STORY. Herr Richard Tauber, the singer, who recently appeared in “The Land of Smiles,” at Drury Lane Theatre, London, in a Berlin newspaper tells his countrymen what he thinks of London and English people. He declares he has never found people who so thoughly enjoy going to the theatre as Londoners. He was astonished to find that playgoers would queue for hours to get a seat. Herr Tauber was charmed with the Prince of Wales, whom he says he met several times privately. “I don’t want to tell tales out of school,” he says, “but I do not think I am being indiscreet when I say that the Prince stated he had quite made up his mind to visit Germany soon.”
