SECOND EDITION

INQUEST ON VICTIMS. NEW LIST OF DEAD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. A special general inquest on the dead was held at Napier at 2 p.m. yesterday, the Courthouse acting as a morgue. Thirty-four bodies were laid out, of which 25 were identified as follows: — Frederick MacArthur, aged 50, married. Louisa M. Bickerstaff, aged 39. Frances M. Boyd, of Epsom, Auckland. Bertram Ogilvie, aged 14, of Hastings. John E. Cunham. Raymond Robertson, aged 14 (son of Archibald Robertson). —. Berek, freezing works employee, aged 20. Winnie M. Skelton. Martha Elridge. Rose J. Leverett (daughter of Albert Leverett). Alexander Walker. Mrs. G. C. Tripney and child (wife of Constable Tipney). Mary Brandon, aged 20, of Woodville.

Jene Haines, aged 54. Nurse Eileen Williams, aged 19. Elsie Keys, aged 30. Mrs. L. T. Bisson. Miss Bennett. —. Robertson, a Technical School boy. Margaret Patient, married. Marjorie Insull, aged 22, of New Plymouth. Geo. Plank, aged 67. John Davidson. Alfred J. Bonner, aged 54. Mary J. Lenihan, aged 64, wife of Patrick Lenihan.

There are two more emergency morgues, in which the unidentified bodies are lying. Parties are still finding bodies crushed in the shopping centres. FURTHER HASTINGS VICTIMS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. To the mounting death roll the following names have been added:— A. Learning. Henry Brooker. E. Browne. Bodies are still being uncovered from under the debris.
