TE KUITI FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

SPORTS CLUB MEETING. The eleventh annual meeting of the Te Kuiti Friendly Societies Sports Club was held on Saturday evening last there being a good attendance of memebrs. With respect to the club's finances, the balance sheet presented showed a credit of £lO3 17s 2d in the bank. The total amount paid out in prize money at last year's Easter sports meeting was £159 16s 6d, the amount taken at the gate was £76 18s 6d, while nomination entrance fees amounted to £lll 16s. The report stated that the membership of the club was now over 150. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the year ensuing, resulted: Patron, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P.; president, Mr. R. Bryden: vice-presidents, Messrs. E. Peterson (senior), J. F. Walsh, E. Roberts, G. MacMillan, B. Brewer, A. Nealon, T. Waeroa, D. Rogers, C. Boles, H. Connell, A. D. McLennan, G. Mason, H. Dobson, J. S. Hogan, S. Holah, W. Hedley, W. Haines, S. Grut, W. Frerichs, W. Kelly, J. T. Mullins, Young, A. Gyde, W. Taverner, F. White, Drs. de Castro, Isaac, Zobel, and Mesdames Mills and Halford; secretary, Mr. R. Schumacher (re-elected); trustees, Messrs. E. Peterson and G. Martin; local committee, Messrs. C. Davey, W. Jeffcott, G. Banfield, W. Stanley, D. Brady, C. Moon and E. Peterson; executive committee, Messrs. R. H. Browne, W. Stanley, C. Hallett, E. Peterson, T. M. O'Connell, G Martin, D. Davidson; delegat.es, the president and secretary; treasurer, Mr. R. H. Browne. < Included in the' business done, it was decided to write to the executors of the Smith Memorial at Hamilton and endeavour to obtain a cup for competition in children's events. It was announced that Mr. D. Brady had donated a cup for a walking race. The club intends again to endeavour to obtain the services of Mr. David Court's pipe band'at the next sports meeting. The question of the attempt to revive the King Country Centre of the New Zealand Athletic Association was raised, and it was decided that an effort should be made to revive this, and in this connection, it was decided to communicate with the secretary of the association, Mr. S. Sarah, of Taumarunui, with the object of arranging for a meeting of delegates to be called at an early date. During the evening, complimentaiy reference was made to the efforts of the secretary, Mr. R. Schumacher, for his work in connection with the club's activities, he having jield office as secretary since the inception of the club, and in recognition of his services last year the club granted the latter an honorarium of £lO.
