OVATION FOR MR. MACDONALD.
RETURN TO HOUSE OF COMMONS. ANGLO-RUSSIAN RELATIONS. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 11 a.m.) London, November 4. In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, received an ovation on entering. At question time, the whole of the Ministerialists stood and cheered. MiBaldwin graciously interjected: "The house has not been the same without you." Mr Clynes, in answer to a said that when Anglo-Russian relations were severed in 1927, the Russian trading firm of Arcos was not disbanded, but continued trading. Some of the members of the Arcos staff were required to leave Britain, and had not been permitted to return. Hon. 'Arthur Henderson said he had not received from any Government, or the League itself, any proposal to place the Suez Canal under the League of Nations.
