Considerable interest is being evinced in the company being formed to acquire the corner site on which is erected the Hotel Grand and several shops. Shares are being taken up freely and it is considered that there will be no difficulty in raising the necessary capital. The promoters have had many inquiries from outside the district, but hope to raise all the necessary capital in the town and district, and thus make the company a purely local one.
