WARNING BY PREMIER.

OUR SMALL EXPORT TRADE. A statement dealing with the finances of the Dominion was made by the Prime Minister last night in Wellington. Mr Coates said there was no cause for alarm, but caution in expenditure would have to be exercised in the near future. The balance for the last, trade year will be against us, that is, exports will not be equal to our imports," he said. "That being the case, all interested in Government, local body and private enterprises will have to exercise caution and economy in future."
