WAITOMO FISHING GROUNDS.

INFORMATION SOLICITED. An interesting inquiry was recently made to the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce in regard to the fishing rivers of this district. A Wellington party of motorists, which will shortly oe touring the North Island) wrote to the secretary of the New Plymouth Tourist and Expansion League asking whether there would he any objection to it camping at or> near the Waitomo Caves during the Christmas Holidays, and asking for information in regard to the fishing streams generally in the district. It is mentioned that the fishing rivers are badly overcrowded in the Wellington district during the Christmas holidays, and fishormen are looking for a new district in which they can indulge their hobby during that time. The League forwarded particulars of the information required in this connection to the local Chamber, and at a meeting of the executive last week the secretary was instructed to forward particulars of suitable camping grounds, and also the best streams for fishing in the district.
