>. NEW CABINET ELECTED. ELECTIONS AT NEW YEAR. (Press Association. Copyright.) (Received 1.10 pun.) Berlin, November 30. Hector Mery has succeeded Matthes as Premier* of the Provisional Government of the Rhineland Republic. It is stated that Matthes, in a letter to M. Tirard, the French High Commissioner, admitted his administration collapsed because it consisted k mainly of dishonest and incapable persons. The new Government would rely on the support of the central German people. The Democratic parties in the Reichstag, including the Socialists, are expected to be benevolently neutral, as they have no desire for a new crisis, which would result in the dissolution of the Reichstag. The Opposition will consist of the German Nationalists, and therefore Cabinet" will not have a majority in the Reichstag, but if the Socialists are quiescent, Cabinet should continue in office until the elections in the New Year.
