The system will probably be in operation in Te Kuiti about August I. Vandals have again been busy in Tc Kuiti. One would have thought that anything set apart for the peace celebrations would have been sacred, but it was not so. On Friday night, seven of the pretty little electric light globes which provided the illumination for the arches were stolen. On Saturday night, seven more went, and on Sunday a further batch disappeared. Altogether about twenty were taken. A number of lights used by shopkeepers were also stolen. The Municipal Band has proved itself a valuable asset to Te Kuiti during the peace celebrations, Whatever was in progress, be it early or late, the band was in attendance. The members served the town faithfully and well.
