"Copped Hall Jameson" is a grandly bred bay Shire horse, standing about I7h hands high, with the best of feet, joints and legs, and a profusion of the right sort of feather; has great bone and is a grand mover, and very correct shapes, and is a Shire Stallion of the first order. He is without doubt the best Stallion ever imported into New Zealand. He was examined and passed sound by the Shire Horse Society's Veterinary Surgeons at London Shows, 1907-8-9, as well as at all the Shows he was exhibited at during these years. H e has proved himself to be a very sure foal getter.

Northern Charmer is a dark bay with black points, and was foaled on December I2th, 1905. He has many good points to recommend him as a sire. He has splendid feet and pasterns, plenty of flat bone, good action, and a sound constitution, with a very docile temper. Northern Charmer is not one of thpse big awkward elks that farmers try to avoid, but is a splendidly proportioned horse possessing great muscle and strength in a fairly small compass. The judge (Mr. J. Baxter) at the Masterton A. and P. Show, 1909, gave Northern Charmer special praise for his splendid feet, and considered him a model for a farmers'class of stallion. He was awarded 2nd ptize in the 3-year-old class at the Masterton A. and P. Show, 1909, and also 3rd prize for 3 years and over at the YVoodville A. and P. Show, 1909Northern Charmer was got by that well-known horse Fernside —by Prids of Strathmot'e, by Extinguisher. Fernside's dam, Darling, by Nil Desperandum. Northern Charmer's dam, Maggie, was by Hero, by Kelvin, by Prince Royal (McKellar's), by Prince Charlie (imp.). The foregoing pedigree is sufficient •to show that Northern Charmer has on both sides the best Clydesdale Dlood in the Dominion, and his breeding alone should command the confidence of farmers throughout the district. Intending breeders will find it to their advantage to carefully con 7 sider the merits of Northern Charmer as he is the stamp of sire to get the class of all-round horse so greatly in demand.
