GIVING IT A FLAVOUR
The friend who strolled into the studio of D'Orbay, the great artist, was deeply interested in the .iirish ing touches which were- being given the latest masterpiece from D'Orbay's brush. But when the famous artist began to rub a piece of raw meat over the painted rabbit in the foreground, the friend was more than interested ; he was astonished. "What on earth is the idea in that ?" he asked. D'Orbay smiled. "Well. you see," ha explained, "Mrs. Meelyans is coming to see this picture this afternoon. She likes things realistic, but she hadn't any idea of art. When she sees her pet dog smell that rabbit and get excited over it, she'll buy it, she'll buy it on the spbt ! Grasp the idea ?"
