The State free labourers engaged in Sydney during the strike have been withdrawn. The number included a good many New Zealanders who will be returned to the DoA noxious weed known as the Star Thistle is appearing in parts of the Poverty Bay district, and threatens to become almost as troublesome as the Californian thi'tle. The thistle is locally called the "wind" thistle, and it grows to a height of three or four feet in good ground. It is very bad in some parts of Australia.
