DIED IN THE STREET.
_ , _• END OF A HOLIDAY. Auckland, Tuesday. # Constable Quinn, of the city police, had a rather uusual and unpleasant experience this morning, in that he arrested a man who was lying in the street for being drunkand frund on reaching the poilce station that his man wag dead. The man had no cash in his pockets, and his belongings and general appearance indicated that he was a labouring man. Some tradesmen's receipts found in his pocketa indicated that the man's name is R. Mills, and that at the end of November he was resident in Te Kuiti. From these it is surmised that the man has been working at Te Kuiti. and that he came to Auckland this month for a holiday, and inquiries are being made. The man is about 50 years of age, of medium build, about sft Bin in height, and has fair hair, and moustache turning grey.
