THE POLITES. Mr V. M. Beebe's name is now bo well known throughout New Zealand a 8 a purveyor of high class entertainments that any company hearing hie name needs little furhter recommendation to theatre goors, and it is quite safe to predict that "The Polites" will open at the Town Hall, Te Kuiti, on Monday, November 17th, to a capacity house, "The Polites" are said to be strogncr in nmuberaa nd general excellence than any similar orgnisaation that has toured the Dominion in recent years, and jeven surpasses Mr Beebe's former efforts to furnish New Zealand cudiences with only the very best talent procurable. The company is headed by the inimitable Lazern, a world-celebrated magician, whose unlimite resoruces for provoking hearty laughter are only secondary to his power to astonish by the skilful ease with wich hhe performß, in quick succession, a multitude of seeming impossibilities. Other specialty artists in the company include the Rollicking Rockleys, clever sketch artias,* singer a , and dancers; Mr Will Whitte, a ragtime tenor and eccentric dancer who ha proveda great favourite with New Zeaalnd audience; Miss Rubee Raymond, a charming American toe-dancer: Miss Ella Conrad, a soprano vocalitH of unquestionable merit ami popularity; Mies Edie Leeder. the dainty little serio and dancer; and tli! 1 acrobatic Arteens, lady and genrlemen acrobats, who with their wonderful acrobatic dog, present one of the liuci-t turns ever seen in the Dominion. The. company carry a large quantity of elaborate scenery and ?l properties, and open in a delightful costumed first part, which is presentcii by mostly girls. The prices of admission are 3s, 2s, and Is 6d. and reserved seats may be booked at Mr McColl's, without extra charge. EMPRESS PICTURES. The fatar pictures for to-night's change ore n pictorial adaptation of "Shylock," in two acts; a medley entitled "Druic.es of the Ages," showing a remarkable view of various styles of dancing from VJOO B.C. to the present nay; and a comedy 2000 ft long on Will Evan's sketch, "Harnessing the Horse." The supporting films are all up to tho usual standard of excellence.
