It is officially announced that as a result of the stipendiary stewards' inquiry, the New Zealand horse Loch Maben and her owner have been disqualified for life in Australia £ Attention is drawn tD the dental notice advising patrons that Mr Bernard Brewer, surgeon dentist, will be visiting Kawhia, Kinohaku, and Oparau from Saturday 15th to Tuesday 18th. The Te Kuiti surgery will be closed during Mr Brewer's absence. In connection with the widening of the footpath in Rora street the Borough Council circularised the various business people concerned with a view to meeting and arranging for the removal of the shop verandahs to the necessary width. Only two of those concerned attended and the meeting lapsed. The quarterly report of the General Federation of Trades Unions, referring to the Aisgill disaster and subsequent events, urgse that judges trying the cases where the interests of capital and labour clash should be selected from a different class to that now providing them, owing to bias and lack of adequate training in industrial history and trade union practice. In referring to the resignation of the assistant electrical engineer at Monday evening's Council meeting* the Mayor said they regretted that Mr Rhodes was leaving but there was no question of his reconsidering his decision. He had come to acquire experience in a certain branch of the work and that object been attained, he was merely studying his best interests in not remaining longer.
