VALEDICTORY BANQUET.

DRS ZOBEL AND McRAE. The impending depature of Drs Zooel and Mcßae of Ts Kuiti on a visit to the 013 World was the occasion of a complimentary banquet tendered by the citiser.s on Wednesday evening, in the Municipal Hall, In the absence cf the Mayor the chair was takn by Mr W. Gadsby, and there was en excellent attendance, the taculty being represented by Drs Will, McLeod, Mathzeson and Norms:!, in addition to the guest?. During the evening the following toasts were honoured:—The King Country, Mr R. M. SuinerviHe —Messrs J. Lee and H. Mussen; The Medical Profession, Mv T. E. Foy the doctors present;, The Guests, Mr Gadsby—Drs Zobe! and Mcßae; Suppression of the Strike, Mr Kowarth Mostyn Jones, H. Mussen and Lowe The Ladies, MiLamb—Messrs Cairns and Rowan; The Press. Mr J. B. Yoimg—Mr N. C. Matthew. During the evening a number of sungs and recitations were rendered. Miss Zos Hartley kindly contributing several items which were enthusiastically received. Miss Bartley also acted as accompanist and special thanks are due to her for her services. A feature of the evening was the fine reciting cf. Messrs Duff, Elliott, and Mac Donald, while songs were contributed by Messrs Blackman, Mac Donald, Kirk, Cairns and Spencer. A most enjoyable eveningterminated with the singing of Auld Lang Syne and a hearty God speed to the guests. A DRUIDS' FAREWELL. SEND OFF TO DR McRAE. A very pleasant gathering was held in the Town Hall last night, the occasion being a farewell to Bro. Dr McRae, who is departing on a visit to Scotland. P.A. Bro. D. Fletcher presided, and there was a good attendance of Druids and members of other lodges, including visitors from Auckland. The toast or "The Guest," was proposed by Bro. G, P. Finlay, who referred to the many estimable qualities of Dr Mcßae and wished him a pleasant journey and a safe return. Sangs snd recitations were contri bufced by Bros. Guy, Gills. Adams, Cook, Mcßae. Eketone and Henderson, the accompaniments being ably rendered by Mr Christian. The function was kept going till a late hour, being concluded by the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
