LOYAL TE KUITI LODGE. A meeting of the Loyal Te Kuiti Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held on Tuesday evening last, N.G. Bro. Barker presiding over a large attendance of members. Various matters appertaining to the welfare of the lodge were discussed. One now member was initiated and one proposed. A visit was received from the Prov. Deputy Grand Master, Bro. Paple who presented on behalf of the Aucklan 3 district the shield won by the Loyal Te Kuiti Lodge for largest percentage increase of members dur ing 1912, the gain being 71.4 per cent. Bro. Paple congratulated tho lodge on its fine performance, and | hoped it would continue to make such giant strides. Speaking on the progress of the Auckland district, Bro. Paple said that the membership was now 4212, there being 590 now members initiated during 1912. The sick , pay paid out, during the same period was £5700. Funeral benefits paid were £BIS, and medical benefits £3420. This showed tho good work being done by one Friendly Society, and if the people realised that there are other Friendly Societies doing similar good, there would bo a still larger increase of membership in these benefit societie?. Bro. Paple on behalf of the District officers and himself, congratulated P.G. Bro. Rutherford for the zeal and interest he had shown in obtaining the largest number of new members. N.G. Bro. Barker, in accepting the Shield on behalf of the Lodge, Buitably replied. P.G. Bro. Rutherford replied on behalf of himself. Past Grand Emblems were presented to P.G. Bro. Rutherford P.G. Bro. Vause and P.G. Bro. Smith by D.G.M. Bro. Paple, on behalf of the lodge. After tho close of the meeting, refreshments were provided and during which recitations were given by D.G.M. Paple, Bro. Dillicar, and others.
