It is stated a big movement is afoot to form a registered union of the slaughtermen who took the place of theslaughtermen on strike at Pareora and Smithfield, in sympathy with whom the Timaru Watersiders' struck. The Kia" Ora arrived yesterday to load 30,000 carcases. Work was proceeded with by free labourers, who held a meeting at noon yeßterday. It was decided to form a separate union and register.
