SEATOUN BOATING FATALITY.

An inquest concerning the deaths of William Ham, Ellen Ham, and Sydney Ham, victims of the drowning fatality at Seatoun, was to-day. Captain Cameron, master of the s.s. Pateena, stated when the steamer was leaving Wellington on February 28h, he saw a capsized boat near the Pinnacle Rocks. A boat in charge of the second officer was sent to the scene, and picked up a man in an exhausted condition. They wore informed three others had been drowned. William Potter, the rescued man, stated he went fishing in small boat in company with Mr and Mrs Ham and their child. Whilst the anchor was being hauled up witness heard a scream, and the boat immediately capsized. Ham and witness tried to right the boat and to put in Mrs Ham (who had a child in her arms, but were unsuccessful. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned.
