ONGARUE NEEDS.
By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent. Ongarue, This Day. Residents of Ongarue and settlers of the surrounding district waited on Mr Jennings, M.P., yesterday morning in regard to the various needs of the district. The deputation requested Mr Jennings to endeavour to secure the immediate erection of the new Post Office, for which £IOOO has already been voted; also, that the vote of £SOO granted for the OngarueTaupo road should be expended before the winter sets in. Railway matter? were discussed, and it was decided to ask the Minister for Railways to attach a passenger to the car to the goods train; also, that a stationmaster be appointed for Ongarue, and that the railway stock yards be brought up to date. Mr Jennings said he recognised that the matters were most important, and they would receive his utmost support.
