The Ven. Archdeacon Cole, who is in charge of the Church of England Home Mission in the diocese of Auckland, is coming to Te Kuiti on Saturday. On Saturday evening he will meet the Church Committee, and on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock ho will hold a special service in connection with the change of the district, from the Home Mission to a self-support-ing parochial district. It is probable that he will also preach in the evening.

The British Bioscope Company gave a capital picture show in Te Kuiti Town Hall last nigjit, when they produced "Living London" in all its majesty and variety, showing Last and West end life, and the multitudinous activities of the. teeming millions of that great capita!. Other pictures shown were illustrative of cocoa-nut gathering, life in Ceylon, panther hunting, a wife's evil dream, and the usual (and inevitable) "comic" pictures. There was no "flicker" noticeable, and the large audience thoroughly enjoyed the show. «

A very enjoyable time was spent last evening when the members of the local Oddfellows' Lodge entertained the officers and brethren of the newlyformed Druids' Lodge in the the Congregational schoolroom, to a friendly game of cards and a smoke. At the conclusion Rev. Mitchell, N.G., thanked the visitors for attending and trusted that many more such evenings would be enjoyed. Mr Spring, Secretary of the Druids, briefly returned thanks for the pleasant time spent as the guests of the Oddfellows.

Mr J. K. Graham has a replace advertisement on page S to-day. Since coining here Mr Graham has, as the result of long practical experience and business integrity, built up a good and growing connection and is again adding to his premises, which will make the Lxehange Rooms oik 1 of the best in any of the Dominion's country towns. Mr Ilawloy, photographer, late of Auckland, has obtained promises in To Kuiti, and will shortly be prepared to do work both in Te Kuiti and surrounding districts. The studio will be up-to-date in all respects, and Mr Hawley hopes, by strict attention to orders given to him. to receive the support of the general public.

A romance, which is said to have originated over Latin primers and other equally prosaic subjects, has just been revealed at; Bridge, Yorkshire, by the announcement of the engagement of the vicar of the parish, Canon Jvens, to Miss Annie Tate, a school-teacher, whom lie bad coached for the post at, the Church dav schools. The canon, whose age is fifty-six, is rural dean of Halifax, and has been vicar of Sowcrby Bridge for twenty-two years. At present be is on a mission tour in New Zealand. Miss Tate, who is about twenty-one. is the daughter of an engineman working at Halifax in the electric supply station of the corporation.
