A CHAPTER OF ACCIDENTS
[IIY TKLMUIAPH. I'B.KSS ASSOCIATION.] Gisborne, This Day. Yesterday a young married man, named Watts, employed at the Pahiatua station, gashed his foot badly with an axe. When being brought to Gie* borne for medical assistance the horse in the gig bolted, and the vehicle capsized and rolled into the river. The occupants were thrown clear. R. Winkworth, a roadman employed by the County Council, went into the river to liberate the horse and was drowned. Watts waß brought to the hospital at 3 o'cloclCin the morning. •
