BOROUGH OF TE KUITI. and Par lard art NOTICE ia hereby given that at a special meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council, held on the tenth day of October, 1910, the following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council, to be held on MONDAY, the fourteenth day of NOVEMBER, 1910, at 7.30 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Queen street, Te Kuiti "That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Part XLII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," "The Public Health Act, 1908,"and in pursuance of all and every the other powers and provisions in that behalf contained or implied in any statute or ordinance enabling the Council in that behalf Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes, by way of Special Order, By-laws to be called "The General By-laws, 1910." The said By-laws are divided into 16 parts, numbered from 1 to 16 inclusive, each of which part is divided into sections or subsections. The said parts are as follows: — Part I.—lnterpretation Part II. —Penalties Part 111. —Standing Orders Part IV. —In respect of Streets Part V. —General Provisions for the Good Rule and Government of the Borough Part VI. —In respect of Prevention of Fire. Part VII.—In respect of Buildings for Public Meetings, etc. Part Vlll.—Nuisances Part IX.—Licensed Carriages, Carts and Drivers Part X.—ln Respect of Pedlars Hawkers r Reaaect Jfof LiSeS -rooms ' Xlll.—Sale of Milk and Food Part XlV.—Sanitary and Public Health Part XV. —Slaughter-houses Tie object and fJjfer pAatk By-laW| tike to caige penaltip for jgon-compli-aroe therewith; regtfWW the proceedings of the Council; regulate and control the use o&gpf&eets, footpaths and the of anything upon, o*r,jfof unoer a street or footpath,%s&&> prescribe the route by which ®ose horses, cattle or other aniJals may be driven, led or takdp along the streets of the Borough; regulate control or prohibit the display upon or over public buildings or 1 bridges, or upon or over buildings, walls, fences, lamp-posts, pavements, or hoardings situated in or upon or adjoining any land or street the property of the Corporation or under the control of the Council, or the display in any ' manner so that it shall be visible from any such street or public place, of posters, placards, handbills, writings, pictures or devices * for advertising or other purposes; prohibit the erection of any fence composed wholly or partly of barbed wire within the Borough, 6r such portions thereof as are specified in any By-law; regulate the construction and repair of buildings; provide for the good rule and government of the borough; prevent danger from fire, and control the store of dangerous goods; license and control buildings for public meetings, etc.; prevent nuisances, etc.; license carriages, carts and drivers; define, license and regulate the conduct of carriers of persons and goods for hire, and hawkers, pedlars, keepers of coffee and other stalls, etc.; define, license and control common lodging - houses and billiard-rooms, etc.; regulate the sale of all articles of human food of a perishable nature; license milkmen; provide for the inspection of dairies, etc.; conserve public health, safety and convenience; regulate and control the disposal of night-soil, refuse, etc. and other matters in connection with the sanitation of the Borough; license slaughterhouses, etc.; protect any property belonging to the Corporation, or controlled by the Council, from damage or injury; regulate drainage and sanitation; provide for the inspection of any land, buildings or premises for any of the purposes'of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908"; regulate any of the subject matters, and more effectually carry out any of the objects of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908"; regulate, control or prohibit any act, matter or thing usually the subject of municipal regulation, control or prohibition." A fuli copy of these By-laws is deposited at the offices of Te Kuiti Borough Council, Queen street, Te Kuiti, and will be open to the inspection of the public during office hours from Novembsr 4th until the said fourteenth day of November, 1910.
