Kiritehere-Moeatoa.
Mr Wynyard, surveyor, and party have returned to the district after spending the winter in office. Mr Wynyard will be engaged in cutting boundary-lines and checking some old surveys until about Christmas time. We are having a cold snap of weather just at present, accompanied by frequent heavy showers. As lambing is finished and the lambs are nice and strong the cold will not do much damage. It is estimated that the area of bush being felled this year is greater than that of any other year since settlement first began. The roads are pretty bad yet, but it is hoped that they will soon be passable. Docking operations will be in full swing next week providing the weather is fine.
