A company has recently been formed, consisting mostly of farmers, to establish freezing works in the north. The company has been floated with a capital of £25,000, and the erection of the works will be proceeded with immediately. They will be situated at Lorfc Port, near Whangarei, within 12 feet of deep water, so that boats can load right alongside. The machinery is in order, a competent engineer has been engaged, and it is expected that the works will be in going order about the middle of January or the beginning of February.
