"HASTY CONCLUSIONS."

A Successful Production. Te Awamutu Correspondent. On Wednesday night "Hasty Conclusions" was staged by a number of local amateurs and meet with an enthusiastic reception. The Town Hall was comfortably filled and a lively interest was manifested iii the proceedings by an appreciative audience. For the occasion the stage was arraiged to represent an old rectory garden. The play throughout was full of interest and the parts were well sustained by the different participants. Claude* Astill as Horace Homer,tbe "Practical Doctor," an eccentric individual who was inclined to recite trash at every conceivable opportunity, was very successful, and pleased the audience immensely. Mention must be made of Miss Mary Hicks, as Aunt Patience, who was undoubtedly good, and met with frequent applause for her clever rendition of this difficult role. Mr T. Morrison, as Robin Rosy, did not seem altogether at bis ease which can be readily understood being thrown into company with the many charming young ladies posing as the rector's six daughters. Truly a trying experience for a basbful young man. As Paul Pawis, the father of the six ladies aforesaid, Mr North had a sinecure part. What little he had to do he did well. Paul Pawis could be complimented on his well preserved appearance, tbe posssesion of six lively daughters not having apparently prematurely aged him. Misses M. Ahier, M. Batburst. A. Vause, Teasdale, Ricket and as the Rector's charming daughter? got through their tasks pleasingly. The comical element was well sustained by Mr £. Potts, Zuder Zee, and Herr Moeller, as James. Their sideplay was very effective and caused uproarious laughter. Their frequent pulls at a big black flask made the thirsty portion of the audience envious, and there was more than a suspi 1 cion that the contents were as strong as K.C. Rum. At the request of several who hari not been able to go the first night. th> play wan again staged on Thursday night when there was again a good bouse. Tbe promoters are to be complimented on tbe success that tended their efforts. It would be desirable that the members should be kept together and something more of tbe kind staged. Mr G. M. Abier who was mainly instrumental in bringing the play to a successful issue acted as stage manageress and Miss V. Rick it at the piano dispensed appropriate music.
