FOLLOWING THE Official Announcement of the Cessation of Hostilities with Japan Days’ Holiday will be observed. On the First Day there will be THANKSGIVING . SERVICES at TAKAHANGA DOMAIN, at 2.30 p.m. and in the Churches in the ’Evening. A PARADE will ■be held on the Second Day, the assembly point being at the Drill Hall at 10.45 a.m, Owners of vehicles are asked to Decorate them for the occasion. Children are invited to Decorate their Bicycles, Prams and Go-carts. The Procession will be headed by the Members of the Returned Services Association (Mr H. Marshal), followed by the Home Service, Volunteer Fire Brigade, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and the General Public. The Maori Tribal Committee is invited to stage a Haka on the Domain, and there will be sports for the children. (■ The Flag will be passed round on the Domain to assist in providing funds for the Children’s Sports. Those desiring to make donations can do so by handing them to the Secretary (Mr ’H. J. Hewsbn).
